Our Top 5 Takeaways from Ascend 2022
Did you attend Ascend, sponsored by Ascensus, last fall? Ascend is the retirement and health savings industry’s most comprehensive education conference. This annual training event brings industry professionals together from across the country to connect and learn.
We look forward to Ascend each year as much as our regular attendees do. Our instructors and other team members learn so much by connecting with you. As we prepare for 2023 Ascend, let’s look back at what we learned last year from you.
These are our top 5 takeaways from Ascend 2022.
Learn About the Latest Industry Trends and Rule Changes
The retirement industry has experienced extraordinary regulatory changes in the past three years. First there was the SECURE Act of 2019, and then the IRS released the long-awaited proposed RMD regulations in February 2022, and now the SECURE 2.0 Act of 2022. Our instructors shared that they had many engaging conversations in and out of the classroom with attendees about all these changes and the impact on our industry. As we prepare for Ascend 2023, we know these new rule changes and how to implement them will be at the forefront of our discussions, as they were in 2022. We will be prepared to answer your questions or, in some circumstances, share the questions we continue to have as we all await further IRS guidance.
Strengthen Your Knowledge
Whether you’ve worked with IRAs, employer-sponsored retirement plans, and HSAs for five months or 15 years, there’s always room to strengthen your knowledge through in-depth courses taught by our expert instructors. We know our attendees range from beginners to advanced and we plan our courses so there is something new for everyone.
Earn Credits and Industry Designations
We offer approximately 40 expert-led courses at Ascend each year so our attendees have the opportunity to obtain continuing education credits all at one time, all in one place. We know that’s important to you, especially when these types of in-person learning opportunities were paused during the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to earning CE credits, you can also earn these industry designations:
Connect with Industry Professionals
We’ve heard from you that networking is one of your favorite experiences at Ascend. You can share experiences, learn new things, and make friends while you connect with other financial professionals from across the country through various social events and the general sessions planned over the three-day conference. Our instructors always report that they feel energized after meeting and connecting with attendees, too.
Boost Your Personal Career
We have found that Ascend attendance can build bridges to new careers or positions. When you stay on top of current happenings in our industry, it demonstrates that you are engaged and care about your profession. You are taking an active role in meeting your industry peers and, frankly, that makes you stand out as a job candidate.
